Product Overview

The Digital Receiver and Filter II DRF2 is used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The DRF2 is a configurable, multi-channel pre-reconstruction RF data processing circuit board. It’s a performance improved DRF1, which will provide processing for extended receiver bandwidth and channel count combinations. The DRF2 has interfaces for the cPCI (Compact PCI an industry standard bus) and receiver buses. The Synchronous Scan Protocol (SSP) commands are embedded within the receiver bus. The PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus is used to download software to the DSPs (Digital Signal Processors), provide configuration commands and transmit processed receiver data. The SSP commands provide fast configuration control at a rate up to once per view. A view refers to any single contiguous receiver data acquisition. The receiver data router FPGA gathers specific channel view data and delivers it to the DSPs for processing. The DSPs will scale, offset, demodulates, filter and decimate the data. This processed data is sent back to the FPGA, which then transmits it to a specified PCI address location. The receiver data router function provides interfaces for the receiver bus, the DSP serial links, the DSP utopia links, the local PCI bus, the serial EEPROM, the serial identification PROM, DSP interrupts, cPCI interrupts, the board test points and the board LEDS. The product is securely packaged inside a high quality packing box to avoid physical damage during transit. It is used in a wide range of medical equipment such as 1.5T Lx to 8 Channel HDX UPG, Signa MR/I Hispeed 1.5T Fixed and other medical diagnostic imaging equipment.
