Product Overview
A Float Stop comes as a part of the Nitrogen Oxide (N₂O) flow tube module in Breathing Gas Circuit (BGC) of an anesthesia delivery system. A flowmeter consists of 2 flow tubes (small & large) and the flow head module. The float stop is placed in the flow tube. The small and large flow tubes contain small and large float stops respectively, along with filter and O-Rings. They are specific for flow tubes used for O₂, N₂O, CO₂ and air, which are calibrated to a specific tube and interchanging them can cause incorrect readings. It is suspended into the flow tube by a spring on the top. When N₂O is forced in between the tube and the float, a differential pressure is generated. The float stops at a position where the upward force caused by differential pressure and the downward force caused by the weight of it have been equalized. The resulting display is the flow of the gas, which is calibrated on tube. It can be replaced along with the tube.
